Summary: Chloe met Oliver during high school
A/N: this is my first Chlollie piece of writing and it's written for the the Chlollie summer lovefest by a prompt left by anonymous but it didn't turn out to be comment size. It is AU, so much so that there actually the same age in the fic cause that's the only way it would work. Feel free to leave any form of consructive criticism cause I'm not sure how well I did in writing this and I'm always looking for a way to improve. Other than that Enjoy!
“You have to pick a type!”
“No I don’t and frankly Lana why you would think that I’d go to prom with a certain ‘type’ of boy is just wrong.” Chloe complained as she leaned further back into the hay bale she was lounging on, “And it proves that you don’t know me.”
“Well I think I do know you.” Lana stated rising up onto her elbows, “If there’s any sort of boy you’d go with it would be a jock or maybe a nerd. Oh I know, a nerdy jock.”
“I’m not going to prom so it doesn’t matter,” Chloe sighed. When Lana had suggested that they spend the afternoon hanging out on the hay bales at the Kent farm she had thought it was because Lana had wanted a good excuse to watch Clark work. Had she realised that there was going to be girl talk involved she never would have agreed. Especially not when the girl talk was about dates to the prom, well her lack of a date, and picking a ‘type’ of boy just wasn’t her thing. Of course if one boy wanted to ask her she would most certainly say yes but other than that she was in no way interested in anyone else.
“Now, what’s this about you not going to prom?” asked their other male friend as he leaned against the barn door watching the girls conspicuously. Had any told her that a year ago Oliver Queen would be her friend she would have laugh at them like they were mad, but a little under a year ago Oliver had been transferred to Smallville High and had made an instant friend in Clark, thus, by association, her and Lana. Had anyone clued her into the fact that her feelings would have changed from more than what was required for friendship she wasn’t sure how she would have reacted. But they had, and the billionaire wasn’t even aware of it, which made her like him more, but only cause it proved he wasn’t a playboy.
Sighing again Chloe answered, “Well, I don’t see the point in going and doesn’t matter cause I don’t have a date and there is no way I’m going stag.”
Oliver laughed and Chloe couldn’t help but admire his smile as it slowly took possession of his face, “I’m sure there’s someone you want to go with.”
“Maybe there is,” Chloe challenged, “But if he doesn’t have the guts to ask I most certainly am not gonna do his job for him.”
“Oh, well the lucky fellow doesn’t know what he’s missing out on,” Oliver replied, giving a subtle wink to Lana.
Quickly standing Lana moved towards the barn door, “I’m going to go and find Clark, make this a cosy foursome, ok,” before leaving quickly, only pausing to give Oliver a pat on the shoulder for encouragement.
“So, are you going to stand in the doorway all day or are you actually planning to come in?” Chloe asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Hmm, it’s a tough decision but I think I’m going to have to come in,” Oliver said with a small nod while moving to take the spot that Lana had just vacated, “Tell me more about this guy you want to take you to prom.”
“Why, so you can stick Clark on him, no thanks.” Chloe replied, “What about you? Who’s your hot date?”
“Well, I’ve been very bad and haven’t asked the girl I want to ask yet.”
“Who would have thought,” Chloe said, s devious little grin on her face, “The famous Oliver Queen can’t ask a girl to prom. Well you learn something new every day.”
Chuckling Oliver replied, “It’s not like that. It’s different with this girl. I don’t want her to be my prom date. I want her to be my girlfriend.”
“Well she’ll never say yes if you don’t ask,” Chloe said, “So man up Ollie and go get this girl.”
Watching as Oliver stood up as if he was about to leave Chloe couldn’t help but feel a bit sad. She had been hoping that he was talking about her but it appeared that that wasn’t the case. Surprised when he reached out a hand she took it wondering what he was up to. Letting him position her in front of him she took a deep breath and waited to see what would happen next.
“So, Miss Sullivan,” Oliver said.
“Mr Queen,” she replied, raising an eyebrow at his formal manner.
“Will you be quite for one moment?”
“What will it get me?”
Placing a hand over her mouth he sighed, “It will get you an invite prom. So now will you shut up!”
Waiting til his hand was completely removed she replied, “Hmm, maybe depends on who this invite is from?”
“Who do you think?”
“Lana. I always knew she had a lesbian thing for me,” Chloe replied quickly, her devious smile returning.
“Chloe! Please, will shut up for once in your life!” Oliver cried.
“Fine, just this once and I get to call you Ollie forever.”
“Fine,” Oliver sighed, “Chloe, will you go to prom with me?”
“Hmmm, I guess that could be arranged,” she replied, a silly smile crossing her face.
“And that other thing,” Oliver said, taking her hand and nodding his head to the side, “About being my girlfriend?”
“I don’t accept that as an official question, therefore I choose not to answer it.”
Oliver groaned, “Fine! Will you be my girlfriend?”
“I think that can be arranged too,” Chloe replied, a small smile on her face as she let him kiss her tenderly.
